Budapest-you are never boring !!

It was begining of October when I was in Budapest for the first time. I admired: the frequent transport system..from old, new metros, trams and buses. I was amazed by the long old still functioning escaltors. The metro line M1 is the thrid oldest underground built between 1894 to 1896.

The city is divided by the river Danube. The hilly west side of the river is called Buda where Buda castle, Fisherman's Baston, Gellert hill are located. Looks from the west side below,

The flat district in the east is Pest where the Parliament, Danube Bank Memorial, Central Market hall, Vatci utca street, etc are situated.  The famous chain bridge and other bridges connect the buda and pest.

Budapest has lots to offer..thermal bath, panaromic views from buda castle, Fisherman's Baston and gellert hills, ruined pubs, thermal baths, margret island, night view of parliament building, chain bridge, etc. If you have visited these sights in your first trip, still there are much different things to see and enjoy in your second trip. Or its simply amazing to sit and adore the sun set and lights once again from buda castle or gellert hill/citadella. I would like to go there when ever I get chance..I would enjoy to ride in metro (especially the old metro) and in tram. I would fancy to walk in a Cafe and relax having a nice coffee with a delicious hungarian cake. One main reason for me to visit Budapest: Ms Heroine. I will tell more about her in my upcoming post. Because of her I visited Budapest for the second time during Christmas. Soon will come tales about my christmas visit.

The season I like the most

The begining of the winter is over....people slowly now get used to the real winter....All shops, buildings, streets are decorated with colorful lights. These lighs make the winter evening and whole city to glow. Its very nice to take a walk around the city. In every office and reception christmas decorations are show cased bringing in the mood of party and holidays. The most awaited christmas markets are opened all over europe and every city will attract tourist with all the decorations like fairy tale. The aroma from Gluhwine/Mulled wine (wine boiled with spices), hot beer, ginger bread, different candies (sugar coated almonds, cashews, etc), many different sausage, best nuremberger sausage with mustard (my favorite is fire wurst), steaks, chocolate coated fruits, potato pancakes (eaten with apple sauce) or apple+cinnamon pancakes, crepes, waffles, hungarian langos (my favourite traditonal version is with garlic oil or garlic sauce with cheese topping), fries with ketch up or mayo, flammkuchen, different strudel (my apple strudel), kasespatzle, potato noodles (schupfnudeln) with sauerkraut, maultaschen, yummy curry wurst, roasted chest nuts (its not a pleasure if you bite into one bad one), dampfnudeln, hot chocolates, kinderpunsch, schaumkuss, stollen, colorful candys, marzipan fill the air...well now this is my problem...i wanted to eat all of them before the christmas market closes...and Huh....i wanted to visit as much christmas markers as I can and try different version of all these in those christmas marketsπŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ Crazy me for the christmas markets.. you could see me walking excited around the christmas markets with delightful eyes like a child in heavy winter clothes (funny are my loose hat) gazing at food stalls, enjoying the aroma of the food and all light decorations even though I freeze in cold weather. Yes.... Life is beautiful here in December !!

This time the foods in christmas markets were quiet expensive.. i have to rebell with my mind and tongue to buy the expensive food or not..ofcourse the another big problem is calories.. eating all heavy stuffs I struggle to keep up my weight in winter 😁 Sometimes it is confusing whether to try the new food which I havent tried or stick back to the very tasty food I tried last time. For instance, the apple, cinnamon and sugar pancake I tried last week was so delicious and again I got the same pancake though I wanted to spend money to try a new food that I havn't tried..unfortunately I received a burnt pancake 😩. Most of the foods are available only during this christmas season in christmas markets...

People are happy to visit the christmas markets and enter into one of the food stall so that they dont have to cook a meal at home... Here people like to visit christmas markets with colleagues, friends and with family. Every where people have good mood, awaiting for holidays and partys. The shops are filled with people hunting for christmas gifts. Christmas cookies, chocaltes, lebenkuchen fill the supermarkets. Suddely people tend to be soft and happiness is spread in this season. The stalls for local handmade goods, christmas decorations, dolls, candles, soaps, coffee mugs, leather made stuffs add cuteness to the christmas markets.

Now and then it will snow... i look eagerly every year for white christmas.. I will miss this season very much if I go away from here...every year this season here adds joy into my life...Long live the christmas markets in europe πŸ˜ƒ
